Derek is a human criminal. He is first seen in a flashback in "Chapter 1".

Appearance

Derek has brown skin and black hair. He is quite bulky in build; something his companion Dr. Bluestein comments on when he tells him to loose weight.

Background

Five years prior to the events of the series, he and Bluestein were chasing Gary Goodspeed through a rainy night in New York City. They wanted a diamond Gary had, and which they claimed to be theirs. Gary evaded them by fleeing into a bar, where he first met Quinn Ergon.

Alternate versions

In "The First Times They Met", it is revealed that in Nightfall's timeline, Derek was a member of the Infinity Guard and good friends with her timeline's Gary Goodspeed.
